Opening Prayer
Benefit Dinner 2010
Unfortunately, due to technical problems getting the projector and computer up and going, we were unable to review last years dinner or the current timeline for this year's dinner. Please consult the timeline page for specific details on when certain items need to be done.
Ticket Sales & Publicity
Tickets
We discussed that we would be handing out the ticket packets at our next meeting (Wed, Oct. 6th) and signed up for selling tickets after masses for the first couple of weeks. Michael put what I jotted down on the schedule, but may have gotten some of it wrong-sorry. Rosendo and Michael will talk with Fr. Frank after the EM meeting on Monday 9/13 and see if we will be allowed to speak after mass on Oct. 9 & 10. If we are allowed to speak at each mass, Rosendo reiterated that emphasizing donations for people who aren't attending the dinner is important (100% profit with donations).
Bulletin Fliers
Michael has contacted Barb Estes (she made the flyer in the past) about making this years flier. We need to we have people to stuff bulletins Friday, October 8th in the afternoon. Several people at the meeting (would names be good here) expressed interest in helping with this.
Donations
- Mis Amigos - They have gone out of Business. Will contact El Sombrero? regarding tortillas and salsa.
- Ricos
- Nugget
- Costco?
- Santoni - Bridget said she was hopeful that they would again provide beer for our event.
We also discussed that we would have a multi-prize raffle (where we sell 1 ticket for all prizes and people put the tickets into fish bowls for the prizes they are interested in winning). We would like EVERYONE in the ministry to think about who they do business with and ask someone if they would be interested in providing a prize for the raffle... hair dressers, restaurants, oil change place, pet grooming, whatever. If you do get a donation please let Bridget (bridget.levich@gmail.com) or Michael (michael.goodson@gmail.com) know so we don't ask the same people twice. The raffles and prizes are an important source of extra profit for our dinner.
Decorations
Lenore Sharp and Jane Campos said they still have all the decorations for the the dinner, so all was well in hand.
Entertainment
Last year Jeff Levich contacted Mr. Abigano about having the Woodland Jazz Ensemble perform at our dinner. Bridget said that he would contact him again this year.
Food & Drink
- Jane Campos said she would make the salad dressing again this year.
- Concha Leon said she would try and get her mother in law to make the rice this year.
- We need to have some kind of sign up for people to be in charge of different aspects of the preparation on the day of the dinner.
- Chris Campos and Ed Shelley will bartend this year.
Servers
John W. said that Jenny W. would contact Mr. Heberle regarding his 8th graders serving our dinner again this year. We need about 12 students in 1 or 2 shifts depending on how they want to do it.
Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be Wed. Oct 6th at 7pm. This is the Wednesday before we start selling tickets. The room will be announced once scheduled.
