Agenda for Stone Soup Ministry's August 23, 2007 Meeting

We will have a meeting Thursday August 23rd at 7:00 pm in the Good Shepherd room at the Community Center on California St.

Adgenda Items:

The most pressing item is the Stroll Through History Raspados/Shaved Ice Booth.  The Stroll Through History is Saturday, September 8th from 8am-4pm.  At our last meetings, we decided to have a booth there to sell snow cones/shaved ice.  The booth and the shaved ice machine has been reserved.  Even if you are unable to attend the meeting.  Please follow the link and sign up to help with the booth if you are available.  Some tips on the period attire are also mentioned at the bottom

Also the ministry's benefit dinner is coming up on November3, 2007, so we will need to begin ticket sales October 6th & 7th.  To do this, we will need to get organized with promotion for the dinner, including getting ready for the kickoff weekend. Some items include:

• Putting together informational brochure about the ministry
• Signing up ministry members to sell tickets after the masses.
• Signing up people to speak at the masses on the weekend of Oct 6 & 7.
• Contacting the parish to arrange permission to speak at mass and sell tickets after the masses for all the weekends prior to the dinner
• Printing up tickets (information cards to accompany receipts).
• Publicity for the dinner through the Parish Radio Station
• Publicity for the dinner through the newspaper.
• The possiblity of also making raspados (to give away) on the weekend of Oct. 6&7 as kind of a ministry information/good will/ticket sales event.

• Contacting businesses about donations for the dinner
• Liquor License
